John Godfrey (1820-1913) was born near Killarney, Ireland in 1820, came to Guelph in 1846, then settled in Elora in 1855. Elizabeth Godfrey married Nicholas James Cole. She became involved with the Elora Branch of the Red Cross Society and he became administrator at the Ont. Hospital in Penetang.
